Chapman Insurance Group Hosts Bunche Beach Cleanup to Mark Two Years Since Hurricane Ian
[Fort Myers] – In commemoration of the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Ian, Chapman Insurance Group (CIG) will host its second beach cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Bunche Beach Preserve in Fort Myers. This community-driven event, held in partnership with the Healthy Earth, follows the success of last year’s cleanup and aims to honor the resilience of Southwest Florida while supporting ongoing recovery efforts.
Hurricane Ian, which struck the region in 2022, left a profound and lasting impact on both the environment and the local community. Although notable progress has been made in recovery, the storm’s effects linger. The cleanup offers a chance to restore the coastline and reflect on the collective effort that has been essential to moving forward.
“Hurricane Ian left a deep mark on our region, and while we have made significant strides, our work is not done,” said Brian Chapman, CEO and founder of CIG. “This cleanup is more than a beach restoration; it’s a testament to our community’s perseverance and spirit. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the enduring strength of Southwest Florida and to recognize the progress we’ve made over the past two years. As we mark this milestone, it’s crucial to honor our achievements and reaffirm our commitment to ongoing recovery. We view this event as a powerful symbol of our dedication to unity and our shared journey toward a better future. As such, we’re excited to establish it as an annual tradition that will continue to strengthen our community for years to come.”
The beach cleanup welcomes participants of all ages. Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The Healthy Earth will provide all necessary supplies, and refreshments, including pizza, will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance on CIG’s event page on Facebook.
